OUR STORY
Stella Artois and frites share a rich history that dates back to the 1600s in Belgium. Stella Artois was first presented to the people of Leuven as a gift for the holidays while frites were introduced one cold winter when rivers frozen over, and potatoes replaced fish as a main dish. To this day, both have stood the test of time and continue to be paired together. At Frites Artois, our mission is to provide the world’s best frites and the world’s best beer.
To deliver on this mission Stella Artois partnered with three-star Michelin chef Sergio Herman, who spent 18 months testing different types of potatoes, soil types and cooking methods in the process of sourcing and making the world’s best-tasting frites - golden and crispy on the outside, and pillowy soft on the inside.
Our passion for Beer & Frites coupled with our shared Belgian roots, makes our partnership a particularly meaningful one. Sergio brings his craft and creativity to our global menu as Executive Chef and Culinary Partner.
